  Background Sudan, the third largest country in Africa by area, and the third largest country by area in the Arab league was ruled by Omar AL Bashir for almost 3 decades, he came to power in 1989 after a successful coup against prime minister Sadiq Al Mahdi and since then, the country dwelled 30 years long military dictatorship under Omar.
